July 02, Colombo: The major Muslim party Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) is planning to contest the upcoming parliamentary election with the United National Party ( UNP), its leader Rauff Hakeem has said.
Hakeem has told the reporters here as he was leaving UNP headquarters Sirikotha Wednesday that his party has decided to contest with the UNP.
The SLMC leader was reportedly at Sirikotha meeting with the UNP Leader and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
He has said that the SLMC has decided to sign a MOU with the UNP soon adding that the party has decided that it was advantageous for the party to contest with the UNP.
