There are strong stocks in almost all markets such as advanced, emerging and frontier markets. Sri-Lanka is number one attractive frontier markets in Asia. There are strong groups and stocks in the CSE as well. Future quarterly earnings and yearly earnings will prove this. Even in weak groups there are strong stocks when compare with stocks in the same group. We should see higher earnings in groups such as food, tourism and export etc.

We should see more foreign investors in the coming months as they see more attractive value in the market now. Some foreign investors didn’t want to invest during period of political uncertainty. Fund mangers re-balance their portfolios time to time. When they see attractive stocks, they will buy those stocks while disposing their under performing stocks. More they see value in frontier markets more they will buy frontier stocks. Some frontier markets including Sri-Lanka have become value paradises.

It is very easy to open share trading account for foreigners in countries such as Sri-Lanka and Philippines. They have very simple process.

Coming week will show foreigners sentiment on the CSE. Any positive sign from foreign purchases would disappear the dull market everyone had worried in past few weeks.

FED decision to delay rate hike caused to rethink investors back to capital markets. Their return is cautiously happening as analysts are in opinion of possible rate change sooner. They also closely observe future trend of currency depreciation occurred so far over 4%.

Other than international scenarios, some undervalued counters in food & beverage sector are rocketing keeping the market live at intervals. Strong corporate results in coming quarter end would be another attraction for incoming investors that leads the market heated.
