I think this is great news, especially since he is an old Royalist, like Ranil W. time to stop discussing the Race.
It is high time that all
forget about race and Unite the country.
This news should make the CSE go Green on Monday.

What I can say at the moment is, this person is a much better gentleman than the previous
man they imported from Singapore. The other thing is, there are allegations against a top group at CB. I hope the new Governor will handle them smartly.

No one can bring the amount of money we need now. I cannot imagine how they balance the next budget. It all happened when these fools increased salaries by almost 100%. It created imbalance and triggered money printing and Tax chain. Now due to increased prices and taxes the Govt. servants say the relief they got by increased salary is going backwards and they are in more trouble.
This is a basic principal we learn in economy classes.

At the same time entire food production in the country is being squeezed by the actions of the rulers and also by  identified and unidentified environmental factors. This can create lot of troubles in years to come if they take no action.

---
p.s. Dr. Coomaraswamy is in JKH board. Probably he may quit with this new situation.

I 'm sorry . The situation THEN was much better than now.
The new man has to face the consequences of the unnecessary jugglery like steps made during Singaporean invasion . Present situation is really worst.

Dr. Indrajith Coomaswamy in early 2014

He has a vision. That is sure.
He is a strong believer of Indian Free trade pack. That is the only questionable aspect at the moment. He may be correct .

Some crooks use names of good honest people to hide there activities. Galleon group of Rajaratnam also might have used the good name of Indrajith K

My problem why  people take up this matter not mentioned  Indrajith is grand son of Ananda Coomraswamy Who has done tremendous contribution
to Sinhale Arts and culture

Appointment of Indrajith is good amicable solution to the problem

He is not belong to AJITH + MAHENDRAN category
I hope

VAT increase then Inflation up last month. at the same time demand is going down bcz of buying power is going down.

then we can expect some low inflation or keep same level during next few months.

Im sorry I do not think they are related that way.

Hon. Ananda Coomaraswamy married an English girl when he was in England and then married another girl in same country after the end of first. He had two children , Narada & Rohini from second marriage .
He then married an American girl also .

Indrajith's family has different  genealogy I think.

His Grand Farther Chellappaia Coomaraswami was educated at Jafna Hindu & Colombo Royal entered Govt Service in early 1900s .
He was the GA of Jaffna in 1930s.

Chellappia's son Rajendra , also educated at Royal , captained 1st II Cricket . Then qualified from Oxford UK.  He too   entered Govt. Service and Joined UN later on and became a program Director .
President J.R Jayawardena appointed him as an advisory to newly formed BOI in 1980.

His son Indrajith , obtained education at Royal and then in UK. He also entered Govt. service.
Now he is the head of CBSL.

We saw one fake Degree offering institute came to Sri Lanka from India used photographs of Late Hon. Lakshman Kadiragamar to convince local people . They invited him to the opening ceremony and he participated in good heart.

The institute was banned in India long ago but they continued offering Indian degrees in Sri Lanka. They used photographs taken at the ceremony to cheat people and for marketing in Newspapers, earned lot of money for many years.
After about 10 years of operating they vanished .

I totally agree with your comment

" It all happened when these fools increased salaries by almost 100%. It created imbalance and triggered money printing and Tax chain. "

All problems created after huge salary increase to government servants. You can feel how non government people bear this cost of living even if govt. servants say the relief they got by increased salary is going backwards and they are in more trouble.

Now private sector people also demand high salaries. Also foreign investors  won't come if salaries are high because their main objective is earning profits.

re.crnsuranjith:

Yes those 3 people were trying this for many years irrespective of governing party.

I did some non-economy related study with one of them and I know they had long term vision and goal. I do not know how they could spend lot of money for these work for so many years ...may be from external sources.

Due to their financial strength and international connections they can sustain  during any government, influence top ranks and gradually spread the vision they believe.

@ stockback , this case is much serious than managing an airline .
If anyone wanted to know what happened in SriLankan, 80% of  Loss in Srilankan was due to high fuel prices and low productive high fuel burning 4 engined A 340 air planes.
Previous people did some mismanagement but the present crooks are doing more serious unrecoverable damage to the future of our airline by rejecting A350s built for us and withdrawing highly profitable ground handling from the airline.
