no worries ..I don't mind I will do trade with small investment and rest of money goes to FD.

Most critical time is ahead.  The major point is in 6-8 months.
It is like a 'erashtaka' and if passed then the economy can sustain.

To succeed the govt has to plan and act very intelligently without putting much pressure on general public, not only in economy but in other areas too.  
Sucking blood like mentality -heavy tax- and egoistic behavior of leaders will be detrimental.
So far they have given enough fuel for opposition elements.

The popularity of the 'two heads' of state is at the lowest. I have never seen such a situation in my life. During JR era we saw JVPers writing " JR  මරා දමවු mara damavu " in every parapet wall. But majority didn't support it and didn't curse him.

I still hope the leaders can act intelligently. Hence I sell 'no good future looking shares' and keep buying my hopes for next 2 years, in small quantities at the moment.

Public unrest & uneasiness goes on any country where opposition attempts day & night to topple existing government. So difficult time is in ahead with lot of changes in political field that hits country's economy. I guess, whatever suppression comes up RW keeps on going ruling the country for the rest of period. By end of the year if there is no positive signs of improving the economic management it could be the worst time that everyone meets. We wish it may not happen.

Yes.Government should take stern action against all looters.They are getting protection by saying political revenge.Most of JO people should have been  behind the bar.They are trying to disturb countries economy and opinion against the country for their personnal gains.

The big looters like ranil, ravi, appa sira should be behind bars already and champaka and rajitha too. Arjun mahendran too should be in. Above people are eating into the ordinary mans life in this country i wish these guys go to hell without delay

Jul 07, 2016 (LBO) – Colombo Port City project now incorporated under the overall Megapolis plan will create a rising demand for real-estate from local and foreign investors alike, a research firm said.
“The projects impact on the Colombo real estate market will be a long-term consideration” Research Intelligence Unit (RIU), a firm which specialize in real-estate market studies said in a statement.
“We expect the Port City to elevate the profile of Colombo and increase the demand for its real estate from both local as well as foreign investors.”
The new project will add an additional 575 acres of water-front land to the supply of real estate stock in the city, is now going ahead following some additional compliance and environmental impact studies in on order to confirm that there will be no negative impact on the coastline.
It is also expected that foreign ownership will be limited to long-term lease agreements as opposed to freehold ownership which was previously agreed.
The Port City is expected to boost the local economy by generating millions of dollars upon its completion and generate over 80,000 jobs.
“We can expect that much of the demand for port city land will arise from new areas of economic activity along with port related businesses and leisure sector developments,” RIU said.
“This development program will open doors for many foreigners to come into the country for business and work and many more expat Sri Lankans will return to Sri Lanka.”
The SLPA Chairman had remarked recently that the area will be” developed as a port city with roads, water, electricity, communication facilities to set up shopping areas, water sports area, mini golf course, hotels, apartments, recreation areas, marinas and with a lot more additions that will develop the area as a modern city.
This scenario will create an unprecedented growth in the real-estate market that will cover apartments, gated communities, residential houses, modern commercial spaces, leisure property and lead to the development of smart cities, RIU added.
“We expect the long-term impact to be extremely positive on the real estate market.”
However, how much it will resemble the original plans remains to be seen, RIU said

Presently laws are to be amended so as to allow foreigners to own freehold land. Earlier the Govt was concerned about a block of land area to be given to China in Port City. But when land ownership is relaxed don't you think China can buy the entire Port City?

At the outset PM came up with his much awaited so called Policy statement. Before his mouth could dry Ravi K contradicted everything in the very first budget.
Inconsistent policies that completely lacked clarity in depth and breadth was one of the key reasons that killed the investor confidence that led to the present plight of the CSE.
