1Wait Banking sector will start soon. Empty BANKING SECTOR POTENTIAL Tue Feb 08, 2011 9:13 pm

The banks were moving really past 4-5 months back but in current context the market awaits financial sector to have a mega rally.

In an emerging economy the 1st to benefit is the financial sector.

Eg-Motor sector growth --- more LC's & banking facilities such as Leases,Loans

However in recent times the regulators have curtailed the margins of banks by way of interest rates. However if you correctly noticed that they have also decreased the interest rates as well which have not affect the margins.

Also if you compare the last Quarter earnings of Financial sector it has demonstrated a sustainable growth rate and now most of the banks are in to fee based income.

I am expecting SEYB,LOLC,SAMP,COMB to outperform in coming quarter earnings in particular LOLC,SEYB,SAMP.

LOLC - Diversified nature more weight age over Financial+Plantation sectors.
SEYB - The extensive reach with superb turnaround to regain the lost faith.
SAMP - Dynamic performance of the bank
COMB - Sustainable performance

From the above list my recommendation to which has high potential of Healthy ROI - SEYB,LOLC

Good Luck

CDB has already issued Dec Q results. It is highly impressive. I can expect very fast growth. This is my view.

spot on buddy... SEYB, LOLC, SAMP have become star performers and are showing remarkable profitablilty/ growth rate..
My view is also these are trading at a good price for an investor to grab.. u cant say these are overvalued on NAV based.. These may have a lot of potential in future too..

Not only the above; SMLL, CDB will have further growth too..

Keep an eye on this sector, it may have a pre run for the high calibre investors to collect first (like SMLL had last month which topped to 100 and came back to 83s)

I think the winner in the in the banking and finance sector will be CENTRAL FINANCE COMPANY. Here’s an analysis of the company.
Annualized EPS of minimum 70
If the group reports at least an EPS Rs 22 for next two quarters, the annualized EPS will increase to 80, which will result a PE of only 12, the lowest in the financial sector.
Impatient to see the financials, with the sector PE of 18 the price should adjust to range of 1200-1800.
Cheers.
Happy trading
