I don't think the other three companies are sold yet. If sold yet to be declared to CSE, very unlikely. As per this notice two subsidiaries to be sold to some other company by the same owners as the name implies. I don't think this is a internal transaction though owned by the same people. So fresh cash to flow in to EAST as per my opinion. Please correct if I am wrong.

When EAST was trading @Rs.11.80 most of the connected people to the EAST collected the EAST due to inside information of EAST sale and Significant dividend information.
Now with the significant Rs.8.50 dividend also going to affect the EAST'S finance.

Those who bought the EAST @Rs.11.80 earlier, could afford to sell the EAST with the profit even above Rs.3.30/= (11.80 – 8.50=3.30) after the XD date of EAST.

Selling EAST now at above Rs.18/= Or Selling the EAST after the EAST, XD date with Rs.8.50 Dividend + above Rs.3.30/=

Which one is significant? This is the thing happening at EAST now

2. How about their planned sales of subsidiaries to Wijesundara Holdings???

With the deal NAV = 23 ( 138 million shares )
= 3.2 Billion
after dividend NAV = 3.2 - 1.1Billion / 138
= 15rs

Yes I stand by that statement [correction - the divi could be around 5]

3)Use dividend money to purchase other subsidiaries
4)Get out of suspension and watch list
5)Again get the money out as dividends

I wonder how true is the speculation that those who collected at low on inside information, are selling at current price levels and is the reason for the current scenario, because the number of shares traded around 11.90 ( this being the lowest ) is relatively low and this quantitity could have been sold at 19-20 range or even higher if the share price allowed to shoot up. Most of the collection of this share on speculation of hotel sale happened above 14 esp. around 16-18 probably with the intention of selling around 23-25. But with the annoucements of hotel sale and huge cash dividend we can see change in strategy, instead of pushing up, share price bringing down. Simply, if the share price brought down you can earn a 8.50 dividend for a lesser price, and the resulting XD price will be low to collect more at cheap from the dividend money earned. The NAV is estimated to be increased by 23 after the hotel deal, and after the divident pay out to be around 14.50. Some more subsidiaries to be sold, this dividend is an interim one, and we can expect some more EAST action in the future as well. Anyone can buy / sell / hold as per his or her trading strategy, but don't get carried away and sell your shares.

Most of the panic selling, triggered by artifcial selling and supported by prevailing uncertain market condition, noted today and yesterday since tomorrow being the last trading day prior to XD.

You know there is a well planned play going on. This share has become so difficult to predict. Who knows where it will end when panic sellers are in action. I think it has the possibility to move 1.50 eitherway from today's closing price. Love to see if it reaches at least 20.50. The XD price will be a tight one I guess. Several support levels are suggested. 15 is one. 13 will be good support level considering the current price level. Close to 9.50 will be the worst scenario. As a justification of this XD price, share price might close tomorrow 50cents up.

Nahil and the family was selling east which eroded the upturn of EAST, i guess East could have reached around 50-60 if owners were not at the selling side. Brokers and margin investors have bought up huge quantities which made high public float, so do u guys think this share has a future? Div was already priced in when its at 18 levels. Anyway since all of retailers holding this, i guess price could settled aorund 9-10 for short term before it could reach to 5-6 in mid run unless East declares another div which is highly unlikely. (Guess the owners stil want to keep the company without selling off.)

EAST selling pressure mounted only after the official announcement of massive dividend on 7 May 2019. But due to the information EAST collection was going on for more than 6 months from last November 2018. Some of the Broker firms aware this Sale and Massive dividend information and kept secret and they were in the collecting side.
The massive selling amount were the witness who are behind the selling. They were waiting until EAST climbs to reach Maximum level before the dividend announcement.
Some persons also in this forum thundered about massive dividend before the EAST official announcement of dividend.
Not only the price level of Rs.11.80, they bought the range extent to Rs.14 or beyond, could afford to sell with profit @ very low price regardless of EAST’S NAV, because most of them are not EAST lovers; they came only after the dividend announcement have to exit after the dividend.

Those who already bought EAST at high price and saying about “Bring down the EAST price to collect more at cheap before XD date ’’ will get the bitter answer after the EAST XD date price, today onwards

The deal statement in Singapore said that all loans of the hotel will be settled with further capital infusion to hotel - Weligama.

Generally Nahil is a smart person who has given lots of inside loans between his companies. So East will still largely benefit from the inside transactions of the earlier subsidiary Weligama Hotel and through selling all other subsidiaries to another company of Nahil reflects that he is realizing his profit during the hard times of economy.

Looking at Nahil's smartness it is possible that there will be at least another Rs. 8 Dividend that Nahil and family will declare to the shareholders and which will enable to earn more and then possibly invest in another company in Singapore partly to bring in another investment to East as foreign investment.

Then they might start another trading company or a hotel project raise necessary financing from banks and by next year mid there will be another Rights issue to build another hotel or acquire another hotel. Another three years or 5 years later they will sell the hotel again. From next year on wards Every year company will at least try to give Rs. 2-3 per share interim dividend twice a year somehow at least for another three years to keep the Nahil's kids Happy since Kids are more greedier than Nahil. Nahil's business model is to build at least hotel every three years value it in every two years and then sell and make profit, or even value Cement Silos for at least every three years and rent it or increase rent and make money.

Due to Nahil's healthy profile so far he will live more than 12 years so East will at least build 4 more hotels for Next 12 years and Nahil will work out to bring at least another US $ 100 million from his foreign investments to pump in to Sri Lanka.

Right now Sri Lanka is at a decisive juncture in terms of tourism so ideal time that Nahil can borrow from capitalizing dividend cash and then go for a new investment

The share is still worth at Rs. 8 - 9 to collect.

I think all these selling is due to current market condition and panik selling. Most of the brokers were advising their clients to sell the share and not to hold after xd. But what i feel is that this might settle at 13 levels within couple of months. Who knows wheather they will buy back the share?
