The prevailing bullish sentiment in the CSE is to gain momentum from now onwards in response to several favourable factors to boost investor confidence.

Some of them are;

1. There is a clear sign of economic recovery with revival of exports. It is expected to reduce trade deficit this year and ease balance of payments in the backdrop of curtailment of 'non-essential'imports. Opportunities have surfaced for non traditional new areas of exports.

2. It is expected that Joe biden winning the US election could be a trigger to stimulate investments in emerging & frontier markets. The victory of Joe Biden is assured.

3. WHO chief is hopeful of ending the pandemic in less than two years. However, Sri Lanka has virtually brought the threat well under control except for some repatriates being tested positive but no known critical cases and the total deaths recorded is insignificant, only amounting to 12.

4. Political stability is clearly established with policies to be implemented to achieve economic prosperity.

5. Prospects for tourism sector looks promising with the lifting of restrictions with adequate precautions against spread of covid.

In my opinion no one can predict and fix targets for the movement of ASPI. But the direction of movement can be predicted based on certain factors and its bound to move upwards with healthy intermittent corrections. GL

Thank you for insightful post.
Our PE on trailing earnings 10. Historical average 15 while bull market average 20. Recall it reaching 30 in 2011 bubble. I believe you are 100% correct in predicting bull run. So cannot ASPI move to PE of 20. Then improvement of earnings (certain under growth momentum unleashed by GR policies) will be icing. So cannot 10,000++ be expected subject to healthy corrections in between. Await your valued take on my view. Thanks.

Also global markets have raced passed the growth of CSE US, S&P500 have hit an all tome high, hence CSE is even more undervalued relative to other markets

CSE is bound to witness a bull run nearly after a decade. NDB Wealth investing in AEL is a very good sign for the construction sector share. I will not rule out 35/= to 40/= within months.
Tea export sector should do well as the beverage has gained immense popularity after the outbreak of CV world over. Export oriented companies in general have good prospects.
JKH should clear 160/= very soon. Prevailing low interest rates are also a boon to investors.
ASPI should exceed earlier highs!
