What is the point to purchase HNB.N Rights 10:1 @ Rs.219.50 on or before 25th July, despite trading @ around Rs.210 currently?
Who had the same experience (as above) for SEYB.N & SEYB.X ?

the question is how many can be bought at the price? generally there are not many sellers even above that price. so for anyone who is looking to buy large stakes or maintain their % stake the rights is important

By the way including me, most of the people are not a big game players. So, hopefully they may not have any idea to purachase a large no of shares. I just need to clarify any disadvantage (except paying amount) if i purcahse 100 or 200 @ current market price instead of Rights @ Rs.219.50 * 150(150 is no of my rights) ? (Just assume i don't want any additional shares).

For the small investors, selling rights and buy off the market is the best course of action

For bigger investors, collecting the rights is the best course of action as they are interesting in quantities which you cannot obtain off the market as it will drive the price up.

That is the rationale and yes, it happened to Seylan Bank too. =)

good point mate,remember what happened to BBH rights....... it was collected massively by AHUN in last day i think

I think some of the people forget the fact, they have to pay additional money to convert the rights in to share

dont even buy at .5cents.. its too risky..

if N comes down R can end up in zero.. just avoid this share and protect ur money.
