It is listed under Food & Tobaco Sector. since the sector PER is high this has good demand in future.

whats so special with HVA to trade +75% i did look at the prospectus it wasnt attractive to me..

That is correct - 19,928,589 to be precise (which is 30% of the total shares). Smile

i need a clarification in one of the posts, because of the PER High for a sector, will it mean every share in that sector will have the higher PER

Sector PER is the weighted average sector PER. The PER of larger capitalized shares in the sector has a bigger influence on the sector PER than the small caps.

in that sector there are companies like CTC, CARG & DIST which can naturally maintain a high PE for obvious reasons. they are also large caps so their PE effects the sector PE more. so don't take the sector PE as a measuring stick for all the other companies there. be careful you might be comparing a sivar joint to a fine dining place

In fact this sector PER has been adjusted for the market performance of the large caps omitting performance of smaller caps, rather it has been neglected...
As Mono clearly said this PE cannot be taken at all for calculation of the worth of a share of an IPO as it just came out.. If it can show up the good results in future it can become a shining star oppose to established counters and eventually will get the attention it needs ;-)

Watch HVA today Traded Shares 19,889,500 Issued QTY only 19,928,598 Some One Collected Big QTY i think it's possible to break 40.00 it's same like SFIN.

dammika perera has invested hva food company in 2007 .so he might collect hva shares now .vruni amunugama (sarath amunugamas daughter ) has also invested in hva food company ( according to the hva ipo prospectus ) so as dammika and nimal perera is there we can get good return in near future .i think value added ceylon tea is profitable business (example dilmah tea ) so i beleive hva has good future

I think people who applied from bank guaranties selling there shares during first few days.Thats why most ipo prices came down during first week.laugh is the best example.
