Plantation sector is one of the best sectors in CSE. But I cant understand why plantations let down their shares more than 2 & 1/2 months. Will there be any dividend announcement in plantation sector in November?
What are the reason to down plantation share prices these days & when can be expect plantations share prices up? pls let me know your ideas.
Rohan.

the thing is, a massive productions specially in tea reported in last quarter which led the prices down in world market , we hope the prices will go up in early 2012 due to less productions from kenya since improving severe drought in kenya , the main tea producer.

Increasing crud oil prices also have an impact on natural rubber prices.

Last plantation rally triggered by the rising rubber prices and this time it's tea.
but still steady profit comes from oil palm for most of the diversified plantations.

Sri Lanka's tea production rose sharply in the month of May this year recording the highest tea production in the first six months of this year.

According to the Director General of the Sri Lanka Tea Board, K Mihindukulasooriya, month of May recorded the highest tea production in the history.

In May the tea production was recorded at 39,045,037 kg, 16 percent higher than the 33,669,479 kg output recorded for the same period last year.

Sri Lanka exported 27,414,368 kg of tea in May 2014.

The official attributed the success in tea production to the relief granted to tea smallholders. The relief programme is being implemented in 14 tea growing districts

It is interesting to see after long period even Madulsima Tea plantation company (MADU) has reported good results. They have reported EPS of 2.09 quarter ending 30/06/2014. Coming period is very bright for high quality high grown tea. We are seeing quality UVA season and I believe we will have quality high grown western season too this time. Now it is very clear tea companies such as TPL, MASK, MADU, BOPL and UDPL should make good profits in the coming quarters due to attractive tea prices for pure, high quality high grown tea. It is going to be high quality tea time and not rubber this time. Good luck

Their tea sector has made profit and rubber sector has made losses. Smart money is flowing into this sector now. Good luck
