Hi guys.....

What are the best ways to learn this chaotic business of shares?? I do follow this forum, read daily and weekly FTs, read books and try to keep my eyes open to the market.
But,still I'm not happy with the decisions I made and knowledge I have gathered.
So, whatels should I do mates??
And also I should clarify my policy regarding this forum too.
I always look for your helps and try to stay away from giving opinions and advises to new comers Because sharing nonsenses is not ethical as I'm still in that learning-curve.

Find a mentor is one way, but I do not think we are that much lucky in Sri Lanka.

All most all of us make wrong decisions. So long as you made correct decisions 51% of time you are very good, so not to worry dude.

The principles of expressing our opinion should be simple and straight forward. As a guide this is what I adhered to;
1) To express what we think always use words like, I think, I feel, I believe etc...
2) If you are quoting some one else just say; according to so & so or give the reference.
3) Make sure that there is a clear demarcation between your own idea and someone else's.
4) Other wise you can use a disclaimer at the bottom of your posts. Such as " the above represents my personal opinion, please obtain professional advice before making your decisions" or similar.

As long as you adhered to above I think you would be doing great, and just feel free to express yourself however it may seen silly, because your idea might help someone else to save millions.

Here's my 50 cents;

Dont listen to your broker if he's not successful in givng u good advises.. Get an account from a broker who has DFN and watch the price movements..

Do some dummy trading.. Say, pretend u buy a share and wait till it go up to sell but actually without buyin it.. this is just paper trading..

Practice this for 1-3 months untill u build confidence then move to real trading in small qty.. happy wt the small profit u make..
Just keep in mind that since ur not a manipulator or HNWI, its hard to make every trade successful, so be ready to lose som money and keep stop losses on trading, dont be greedy..

Leon,

I think you are in the right track by making an effort to learn. The success will come over time. Its the time you have spent with constant knowledge build up which can make you successful. The losses and the gains..... Its called experience! Don't get discouraged and keep going machang!

Agree with others' statement too. Good tips.

If you go away from the market, you will miss many worthy chances. I experienced it also. Usually I made about 70000 or more profit for a month in 2011 until august but nothing for other months as I stayed away. After I entered in this year I saw that I had missed many good chances.

All the experts and big players lost money when they first entered into this game.

Normally you have to stay at least about two cycles ( bull- bear) to learn this. You loose today to get millions worth of experience . I am sure you will use it to master others in the future.
