Will DIST Group achieve more than 7.5 Billion for Profit for Financial Year 2010/2011

Profit After Tax for the 9 Months Ended 31.12.2010 3.247 Billion
Profit on Disposal LHCL ( Tax Free ) Approximately 3 Billion
Profit from the Quarter Ended 31.03.2010 ?

Also if the able to dispose the lanka bell as planned then he might get another capital gain as well?

I know the liquor taxes increased but usually when taxes go up prices of liquor goes up. People still drink + toiurism is expanding. Also after disposal of Lanka Bell ( not yet) , DIST might even be better position With capital gain added this is attractive.

It's expected more than 100% QoQ growth in 4Q with LHCL capital gain.

But LHCL capital gain is a one time gain, we have to look at more constant future gains as much as possible.. While we cannot think why Harry sold the LHCL holding, the sametime we should be mindful that he'll use this to buy any other counter or to top up the annual report with some extra cash to show the cash position of the DIST...

Anything is possible.. however, ppl will not give up drinking even the prices go up.. ;-)

We have to watch their next qtr results as well which I think will have some earnings growth due to tourists arrival and world cup..

DIST will record the most outstanding results in current financial year posted by a listed company in Sri Lanka.Approx-7.5 Bn After Tax.I think Lanka bell is being looked at by two or three investors (Indian/Malaysian/And a singporian )If it goes DIST will record another 3-5 Bn Capital Gain.

What DIST will do for this money ?They got 5.7 Bn from Government(SLIC shares) and 3.9 Bn from apollo sale.
Options

(1) To increase its stake in SPENCE.
(2) To venture money in Continential Insurance (I think it may have turn around in results )
(3) Invest in other areas which will bring business for them.(Private placements / or existing business expansions).

But DIST is a very wel managed company . nobody knows what they are eyeing at next.
EVEN THEIR TOP MANAGEMENT .Company desecions are highly confidential unlike all the other companies
So WAIT .SHAREHOLDERS WILL DEFINATELY REAP THEIR BEST HARVEST WITHIN 3-9 MONTHS.

I had a drink when the first wicket fell today. Aussies are doing this over an over again . They do some thing intemtionally to upset the concentration of the batsmen, then get his wicket next ball. we were cought in this trap repeatedly. when are we going to learn? DIST will continue with this upward trend.

No body knows what HJ will do with this huge money, I hope invest in tourism sector, (BBH also under complete new construction which mainly belong to them) or may be power sector.

Oh I forgot that BBH deal... yes without going for new money then can easily use this cash for renovation.. smart idea

Well going on Consolidation Stage, but you can't predict his plans very easily, when he announced that he planned to dispose the LHCL at the level of 60/= when it is traded early 40/= most of us thought it was not achievable, but within a very short period of time he proved otherwise

Just as much as JRJ was called the Cunning fox I think the contemprarary Harry is even more cunning he has amazing business acumen....from Appolo to now this LHCL I think no body though he would fetch 62 ....he will surely suprise all of us in the next few months with his plans....

This is a good pric to get DIST at not only are they profitable in their normal operations they are getting capital gain after capital gain....Lanka bell next (they are in two minds to sell though)

Lanka bell also profitable now. DIST has already started to move up.
