Jun 14, 2012 (LBT) - The Sri Lankan government is to commence work for preparing the 2013 budget next month. Treasury Secretary Dr. P.B. Jayasundera told media that the preparation work for the 2013 budget would commence in July and that the management team has already commenced preparatory work. He explained that the President has commenced the consultative process and is traveling around the districts as well.
According to Dr. Jayasundera, the Finance Ministry would work on this line during the month of July. He observed that the government would arrive at a theme for the 2013 budget after completing the initial process. The government in the past few years after the end of the war has focused on development in the country.
