Vallibel One has already launched 160 million shares Private Placement and it has almost oversubscribed as per 18 January.

Market sources say that EPF had bought shares of Vallibel One to the tune of Rs.200 million.

Do you think it is fair to go for IPO immediately after a Private Placement?

Earlier there was a rule by the Colombo Stock Exchange that new companies have to wait at least 6 months after a Private Placement before offering shares to the public.

This rule was to safeguard the small investors from the possible fabrication of account and dilution of shares just prior to an IPO. I think CSE should bring this rule back.

In any event under guidelines of the CSE, Vallible One will have to be listed on the "Diri Savi" Board instead of the CSE main board.

According to market sources Valliable One expected to be a Holding Company with 51% ownership of LB Finance, 51 % of ownership of Royal Ceramics and 10% of Sampath Bank respectively.
