I need to change my broker. Can you please tell me how to do that and I need to transfer my account to the new broker.

Thanks!!

Just go to your new broker and tell him where your old portfolio is ( old broker). You will need to give you CDS accoutn info.

I beleive the new broker can help you to do this easy enough.

Download CDS form 6 from CDS.lk.. Fill them and hand them over to the Existing broker,, They will do the rest... I did it recently

Swan, I did this one time too. I cannot recall even whether the old broker needs to get involved. To make sure you can just call your new broker and ask whether he can take care of this or the old broker have to get involved. if the new one can take care it is even easier for oyu.

U dont have to tell ur current broker..
One u created the account with new broker, there's a seperate form available with broker (can download the same from CDS) where you can request securities to be transferred to the new account.. This process may take abt 10 working days during which time u cannot trade with those securities u've requested to be trasnferred..

If you buy more from one counter, only the earlier requested amt will get transferred..

Tell ur new broker so they'll arrange the trasnfer for you...

Are u changing the broker due to personal reason or for Margin trading?
If for margin trading, please let me know who is your new broker. I also planning to transfer my broker too.
