We are not a religious state We are not ruled by Sharia Law. For the ones who wants to oppose the best way to do so is only by preventing certain ethnic or religious groups going to casinos by educating them according to faith. If Someone is opposing and asking for the prevention of casinos being setup in Sri Lanka They are equal with the Religious Lunatics in Saudi Arabia, or Afganisthan, By doing so they threaten the rights to play for the ones who want to go gaming.

If they are right we need to close down the CSE First.. Hope i am right..

Mate. First we must understand what benefit (tax)we get as a country. But according to this talk(Mr Gammampila) we don't get any considerable taxes for next 25 years.

hettdas, Not fair enough to go by that way. One should consider the cash he is supposed to spend here on the project, effect of tourist arrival and the exposure the country can get due to this.

Gammanpilas and others including yellow and white robed businessmen are talking about tax (and sex ) and they ask same tax concessions to local investors .

This is ridiculous.

1, How many locals can invset 400-500 million US$ ?.

2, Locals do not bring money here.

3, If Crown goes to Burma then we lose entire project , not only tax.

Before talking about tax amounts have they calculated the total loss for 25 years if we lost the project?

Apart from tourist arrivals and main business,
Construction jobs and contracts loss for builders including listed people, opportunities lost for suppliers from sand to Papol gediya , Exposure loss (youth get highly paid overseas job opportunities after working in top class entities. I met many boys working in Atlantis)... ... you can give more...

As ranferdi said , if they fear about their followers, that means clergy have not done their job well and they are not confident about everything including their future.

If feared about sex-posure then they have no idea about Colombo life and Asian sex workers movements.

One has to ask the question that, is the opposition party criticizing this in good faith? They want to see he government withdraw this and take advantage of the situation.
