Hybrid Homes to construct multi-storey building for SLAAS

Hybrid Homes, a market leader in Hybrid Construction Technology (HCT), the latest modular construction technology that converts shipping containers and other recyclable material to eco-friendly and value for money accommodation solutions in Sri Lanka, signed an agreement with the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science (SLAAS), on 10 October, to build a multi-storey building in Vidya Mawatha, Colombo 7, Sri Lanka.

Once completed, the proposed building will consist of 20,000 sq ft of office space, which will be built in two stages by Hybrid Homes. It will most likely become a landmark within walking distance of the latest shopping arcade near Independence Square.

The building will be completed within a period of six months and will possess many novel features. In accordance with planner regulations, the SLAAS Hybrid building will form a continuous public arcade around the town square, while functioning as a multi-purpose office building.

He said that as scientists who were working towards the development of the country’s science and technology, they appreciate how Hybrid Homes has pioneered the use of HCT Technology for Sri Lanka’s infrastructure development.

SLAAS is Sri Lanka’s premier organisation of scientists, formed with the objective of promoting and advancing science, the systematic direction of scientific inquiry in the interest of the country, the dissemination of scientific knowledge and promotion of discussion along with encouragement of contact within the scientific community.
