Hello,

I have been collecting very slowly and average is now Rs.64 PF is loss. Waiting for some cash to come my way to buy more. I will be happy if I can drop average to about 62. Please share any new developments about ESL if anyone knows. Hopefully last two quarters will justify our faith in ESL, Low volumes these days though.GL

ESL is a stock with value. But there won't be huge profits for last quarter. There were no rate cuts or sizable fluctuations in the bond markets for them to make money.

Gainer - you have to stop posting in this forum as agreed. Your lies have to stop.

Reminder

ESL last 12 Month EPS 19.01 PE around 3.1

Sector PE 11.3

ESL Present Value compare with sector PE = 214

Actually ESL value Above 200

Im not promoting this stock this is a hidden gem think and win

if you want to any info about other stocks tell me i can put those analysis

even if they have moderate next two quarters still eps should be around Rs.20 taking a moderate version of 7 price should be Rs.140. My gut says eps will be 25 end year and price at that time easily over 175

In this current market situation

Interest rates unchanged and quarterly on the way. good times ahead for ESL
I think 100 is minimum should be more

EPS should be easily above Rs.20

Financial companies such as ESL should not be valued at Sector PE

ESL is a good share - agree.

Valuation - When someone who holds the post "Moderator" puts absurd figures, people thinks it's correct and gets mislead.

If you want to do so, pls move out of the Moderator post and do so.

ESL - value it at 1.5 to 2 times its net assets (do not use EPS or PE)

It will show a poor December quarter by the way.
But it's good for medium term.

I feel will be benifit everyone . is that wrong ? it is fundamentally sound . should I promote CIFL, LCEM PCH then? I'm telling investor not to lose out.

Telling JKH current valuation is Rs 500 is as wrong as telling CIFL will go to Rs 5

One is the biggest capitalised company and other is a near bankrupt one. But both figures are misleading !

We still don't know how December quarter will be. even if it isn't as big as previous year, cumulative profit for the entire year will still be massive GL. remember no one even experts expected ESL 2nd quarter to be so huge .

Nitro 7

Senior Manager - Equity Analytics

Correct.

That is why i said it has value.

But we need to consider a realistic value. Around 1.5 to 2 times net assets is a ok valuation for medium term of 3 months.

ESL is not a long term share as at now.

Ayyo salli. Machao aran last two year period is where we saw a rapid decline in interest rates. If ESL to make the same money the rate has to drop further by another 100-200 basis points which is highly unlikely.
My advice is don't be too optimistic.

(wt do u mean by 100-200 basis points dont understand)
interest rate follow the same trend as declining in feb expected reduce by 0.5 % then the ESL will give the reasonable return but i am not sure about repeating the last Quarter result with this circumstances for me ESL value 100

Sri Lanka can cut rates once inflation expectations stable-c.bank chief
Tue Jan 27, 2015 4:59am EST

COLOMBO, Jan 27 (Reuters) - Sri Lanka can reduce its policy interest rates below their current record low levels once inflationary expectations subside and become stable, new Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran said on Tuesday.

"Inflation expectations are still embedded in people's minds," Mahendran told Reuters in an interview after the central bank announced its January policy decision. "We have to keep rates stable for a while until those inflationary expectations come down to a stable level and then we can cut interest rates further."

The central bank left policy rates steady on Tuesday for a 12th straight month, as expected. Speaking after his first monetary policy meeting, Mahendran said inflation was expected to ease further with the economy expected "to record a robust performance", predicting growth of 7.5 percent this year.
