It's certainly a dream come true for the lucky few who bought at private placement on 27 December 2010.

Directors bought 30 mn shares at Rs 1 per share, and D Wijemanne (who is CEO of Taprobane Stock Brokers) bought 30 mn at Rs 1.65 per share - all values adjusted for 1 into 10 share split later.

Over 1500% return in 7 months - what bear market on the Colombo Stock Exchange?

Those who are buying NIFL at Rs 27.9 today though must have a very high appetite for risk as NIFL valuations are sky high.

thanks to the relatively limited supply of shares that come onto the market in an introduction the insiders can make a killing in situations like these.

given how the CSE behaves those who buy at 27 on the bigger fool theory may even end up making money.

but anyone using their common sense can see that Nandamma (and their magical future prospects) is now valued at 2.8 BILLION which is nearly the same value as SFIN and compare this to VFIN which is valued at 1.6 BILLION.

so anybody jumping on the Nandamma as an INVESTMENT should ask themselves, is this better than SFIN and VFIN?

Of course buying and dumping on to a bigger fool is a different game (and probably the only way for traders to make money in the CSE right now).

Because the people who brought shares at private placement holding those to be dumped after artificial scarcity and price appreciation created as a result thanks to our foolish retailers and investors (not all).

those idiot directors had to decide the reference price as around 1500,then the share price will be at around 1 lakh(100,000), Twisted Evil

then it will be a first record breaking price in all time in CSE,we can see the headlines in news papers like
"another marvelous record at booming CSE "..the best performing market in the world grab another record in debut of NIFL......

To be frank, I did not even open the introductory document, So, can u just explain me is it worth to pay @ Rs.27.90, whereas its reference price just only Rs.1.70 ?

Yesterday i found only 100 shares were trade @ 18.60 Today 825,100 shares trade @ 27.90, then Tomorrow ?

Funny thing we can see from next annual report or may be coming quarter report, our innocent retailer Mr.X and Mr.Y in the Board Smile

Possible in CSE, See with in two days Rs.1.70 become Rs.27.90.

This is very easy task for our traders to push up 27.90 to Rs.900 even to Rs.9,000......

SShhh.... these days introductions are more profitable for existing S/Hs than IPOs.
Therefore in the future they would consider an introduction to go public then a rights issue to raise more from the retailers
