Even though I dont have a single share I genuinely would like to see good results from DIST.

If someone wants to buy shares in a large scale listed company for medium to long run I think this is the one at current market prices.

Have been awaiting for it too. With Cash gains from past and industry that people will indulge in times of good and bad for long term DIST is solid.

Yep, I have started collecting again. I know for fact that EPF and ceylinco life fund bought massive amounts. Brokers use thuggery technics to bring the share down and rob from innocent retailers. They bring the price down to collect for big fish.

after long time they paid the interim dividend for the year ended 31.03, so may be working hard to decide the quantum of the final dividend

I would be very surprised if the accumulate dividends exceed Rs 3.35 per annum. Smile

Last time they paid 2.50/=, and for 2010/2011 already paid .50 cents as interim, will see what is the final?

So ur bet is maximum 1 billion by way of dividends?

Oh I am not expecting much from Harry J as dividends Wink If they give Rs 3 I would be happy.

"Ibbagen Pihatu Gannawa wage" wadek.

I am holding this as investment for capital gains. Even if they report Rs 3 eps ( due to budest tax issue) the current price is a sweet deal for a "Investor" . Any dividend will be a bonus as I take it.

If I am not mistaken, DIST is suppsed to get 3 billion capital gain from LHCL deal. As I remember the total number of share is 300 million. So, firm should get Rs10/- capital gain per each share.

Correct me if I am wrong.

They have enough money friend last December end they got the long time due from the government on the disposal of SLIC, then they sold the Namal & LHCL holdings, also lanka bell also reported profits, so most probably the report might come out today

I cant see a point why investors want to pay Rs 300 for JKH, Rs 400 for HAYL or Rs 630 for CARS but this is really good buy around Rs 175. Simple as that.

Actually I was referring to core business results Monster. You are correct they should receive one time capitals gains from LHCL and NAMAL sales also.

Well thats why in my post I accounted for DIST to even record a core Eps of 3 ( due to budget tax issue) and it will be still attractive

In any account, DIST to me is undervalued still,

a) Looking at LION which is trading at Rs230 with 12.12 Eps
b) DIST being more diversified blue chip deserves trade at a higher PE
c) them being cash rich will introduce opportunities for business expansion

Even if their annual eps is around Rs 13 this current price is still undervalued. But with capital gain it should be more unless for some unforeseen surprise in accounting. After looking at RICH I am open for surprises though.

Increase in income tax from 35% to 40% will be effective from 01.04.2011 ( if i am not mistaken ) also SRL removed so they will be direct increase of 3.5% on income tax, some days back i had a chat with the Bar owner and he told me that DCSL reduce the margin given to them because up to dec 31.12 they was liable TT at 5%, now only NBT at 1% ( due to the 50% rebate ).

Anybody with the idea about the industry specific taxes explain how they are changed in the last buget

Disatilaries and most of the other companies The BOD invest in other sectors. these investments are share holders not the BOD's personal investment. BOD appoint there own relatives and BOD's also hold a post in it and they suck our minorities money by way of slalary & other benefits from the company. if the BOD diversified in to 15 companies immagine the salary for the BOD from 15 companies............which is the investments of the minority share profits. they invest in to other companies and profit is not given to the minorities............i suggest all minorites to get to gather and file case to asdk the dividend to high rate or minorities to be given director posts in the companies diversified...................Hari has invested & diversified the share holders funds and he is getting salary from all the comlanies...........while he pay the dividend on max Rs.3 per year..............all minorities get to gather to go for seek legal advise and file court case against CSE & Hari................
