Keep an eye on their earnings in the coming quarters. There is a demand for Sri-Lankan poultry products locally as well from regional markets. Industry outlook is very strong due to new development in the global poultry world. It is time to study more than one quarter and more the one financial year to identify some great opportunities in this group.

There will be great demand for food stocks in the remaining stages of current bull market. Just like other stocks, it has formed its uptrend now. Only now I see some bullish outlook in this particular stock.  It has some value as well. When a group become bullish, stocks in the group goes up together although some can have more momentum than others in the group. It has value to pass Rs.200. When it breaks RS.150, be more bullish.  Don’t forget it went up by Rs.8 (more than 5%) today.

Finally, after sometime when a stock break some stock prices it is time to do more home work. BFL, GRAN and TAFL could appreciate according to the stages of market and according to their future earnings. Future earnings are very important.

Keep an eye on the big picture of the industry as well. In bull market 52 weeks high can break again and again in strong stocks. It is time to go behind strong stocks and out of favour stocks which can jump strongly in the reaming stages of current bull market.

Tomorrow it will reach to 165 mark. Dont worry at all. If they can earn 160 million quarterly, The quarterly EPS will be 10, so anualized EPS more than 40/-. 160 Million earning target is a peanut for them. BFL will complete their intergrated poultry project with in next 2 months. This will reduce 15_25/- cost per kg. Positive cash flow and retained earnings will drive this to 200 plus.

BFL has many Poultry Projects which had incurred costs, in the next few quarters and so forth will start reaping profits from those projects as well. Supplying world regional markets as well.

Foreigners have started to buy BFL. local guy is collecting for him. 185/- Is possible. Also look for GRAN too. GRAN owns 57% of TAFL. 75/- Is very teasonable. When BFL Reaches TAFL will reach to 120/-. these have incredible relationships

After some time, it has just passed Rs.150. BFL has value and bullish trend now. Just like golden egg TAFL this also can become another golden egg provided they also maintain good performance in the future. We can become bullish on profits of poultry companies now. Thank you for the information about supplying poultry products to regional markets. Both BFL and TAFL should benefit from this new development. Do you have any idea about egg supply from BFL? It is time to analyse their market share as well in the coming years to get better decisions.

I see lot of articles about BFL, Gran, TAFL these few days.

I would like to give my views to this forum.

I got caught in the last boom and bought 3000 Gran at 175/- and still holding on and this had been a big headach for me since then.I am waiting patiently to come out of it hopefully soon.i have since reduce the cost to 120/- levels by buying at 40/- levels as well.

"Teller" compares BFL with Ceylon Tobacco and Nestle.
however I wish to exercises caution on this comparison as poultry sector has its danger of "birdflu" and we all know its dangers, and poultry  is perishable in nature.

However I accept that BFL has now ventured into other corn cultivation and other means too.

for me may be smaller qty and speculative short term buy .

this is my humble view.

for me I rely on Banking and finance stock for long term investment.

just a caution for the new comer's to stock market

thanks

@Vic19, thanks for your comment. First i didnt compare BFL.with Ceylon tobacco. But i compare with CCS and NEST. Those are typically food companies. BFL has a strong balance sheet ,good retained earnings, good share holder funds, future development and many more factors which similar to NEST and CCS. No doubt on it. The world is much developed in technology so minimum risk for bird flu at the moment. There are more policies and procedures have been implemented to minimize the risk.
