The Dipd counter is not a bad one. In the long term it will appreciate. If you have the holding power then keep the share for 6 it will appreciate. I will go down maybe max 135. 30 sep results won't be the Best but dec onwards it will pick up. There is not enough demand at the moment for this counter as there are other stocks one can invest that will generate short term gains. That's also a main reason this share not to trade heavily and price stagnant.

Sri Lanka’s Dipped Products Sept net down 92%

Sri Lankan rubber gloves manufacturer Dipped Products group said net profit for the September 2015 quarter fell 92 percent to 23 million rupees from a year ago as revenue fell and plantations made a loss.

A stock exchange filing said group sales for the quarter fell 16 percent to 5.3 billion rupees from the year before.

Earnings per share for the quarter fell to 38 cents from 4.93 rupees the year before. EPS for the six months ended 30 September 2015 fell to 2.57 rupees from 8.79 rupees the year before.

Interim accounts showed sales fell in the firm’s gloves and plantations businesses with profits from gloves falling by more than half and plantations slipping into a loss of 32 million rupees.

Dipped Products said in a statement its plantations business suffered losses of 117 million rupees in the six months period.

“The plantation sector was impacted by lower prices both in rubber and tea,” said the company which claims a five percent share of the global non-medical rubber glove market.

Thought its good to alert you guys before the opportunity is lost.
According to the latest results release DIPD has solved most of the problems with their Thai operations. There cost of production too seems to be gone down. And so they are again in the growth path.

Just glance through my expected numbers based on their historical results.

PAT margin2%0%-2%5%4%2%5%
EPS           18.56          5.78         21.92
FY 2016/17 going to be better than even FY 14/15. Further they have announced a DPS of 2/- even with low profits this year. Next year you can expect a DPS of 6+.

According to the technical charts at the moment it is very bullish with RSI of 64, Bull/Bear Power indicator of +2.8 and ROC of + 11.4.

The share has dropped to a low of 73 in March and since then has come till 100 level I suppose due to early release of financial results. In the same way it will move to 140/- 150 levels once you will got to see the Q1 of 16/17 results.

My advice is it is time for you now to add some into your portfolio with a medium term view. This stock with a forward PE of 4.5x is not a risk at all at this point in time.

Do your own analysis and decide.
Thanks

Thought to remind about this stock. Came up from 70s silently without noticing to any body. It dropped from 150s due to lower profits. So when the profits are started to come again then what will be the stock price?

Hayleys Group’s subsidiary Dipped Products PLC (DPL), a leader in the global hand protection glove market, reported Rs. 23.2 billion Group turnover for the nine months ending December 2019. The Hand Protection sector contributed Rs 13.4 billion to the Group’s top line, while the Plantation sector recorded a turnover of Rs. 9.9 billion for the period.
The Dipped Products Group recorded a profit before tax (PBT) of Rs. 872 million for the period ending 31st December 2019. The Group’s profit after tax was Rs 719 million, while the profit attributable to equity holders of the company was Rs 641 million.
Commenting on the results, Dipped Products and Hayleys PLC Chairman Mr. Mohan Pandithage said, “DPL’s performance has demonstrated its resilience to global challenges in a year during which traditional markets in the Eurozone were battling a slow-down in their economies”.

The Group’s Hand Protection sector performed better compared to the previous year and registered 42% higher contribution to PBT. Noteworthy improvement was recorded in the Sri Lankan Manufacturing operations achieved by enhancing customer value proposition through new product development and focusing on premium glove range. Dipped Products (Thailand) Limited (DPTL) results were affected by narrowing profit margins due to intense regional competition, however uptick in demand since latter part of the third quarter increased the sales volumes of DPTL.

The Plantations sector registered 82% lower profitability compared to the same period previous year mainly due to depressed commodity prices. Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (KVPL) performance was significantly affected by the low rubber and stagnant tea prices. KVPL and Talawakelle Tea Estates PLC (TTEL) fetched higher NSA’s than the market averages, but was not enough to maintain margins.
Commenting on the results DPL Managing Director, Mr. Ng Soon Huat said, “Despite the challenging environment the Hand Protection Sector continued to place strategic emphasis on pursuing customers  in emerging and developed markets.

Sri Lankan Manufacturing companies recorded 6% growth in export volumes“.
Mr. Ng further said, “Increasing production capacity for high value products and driving manufacturing excellence program to greater heights are some of the strategies the sector is executing in order to deliver sustainable profitability”.
Established in 1976, Dipped Products is one of the leading non-medical rubber glove manufacturers in the world, and accounts for a 5 percent share of the global market. The company’s products now reach 70 countries. The Board of Directors of Dipped Products PLC comprises Messrs. Mohan Pandithage (Chairman), Ng Soon Huat (Managing Director), Dhammika Perera, Sarath Ganegoda, M.Bottino, F.Mohideen, S.Rajapakse, N.A.R. R. S Nanayakkara, S.P.Peiris, K.D.G.Gunaratne, H.S.R.Kariyawasan, R.H.P.Janadheera and K.M.D.I. Prasad.

Hi All,

July exports have increase YoY even with COVID19 pandemic impact.
http://www.ft.lk/front-page/July-exports-top-1-b-mark-despite-COVID/44-704060

Rubber,Apparel, tea, coconut, fruits and vegetables, agricultural crop exports do well in July.

The above is a proxy indicator of how well orders have accumulated to Dipped Products as a result of COVID19. In fact, Ansel Lanka would have also benefited in a larger volume

Thank you

Hi Baba2020,

Dipped Products and Ansel Lanka are the 2 main companies whom are COVID19 positive. As of now, COVID19 reached 18,979,663 and cases are ongoing.

The company has a book value of Rs 184/- and EPS is Rs 12/- as of latest financials. The future business potential cannot be decided by only looking at Dividend announcement of Rs 1/-. It is because earnings are allocated to production/capacity expansions after assessing the exponential demand for surgical glows and other related products.

Good Luck
