Desperate car buyers are in jeopardy as authorities always use poor mechanism panicking the consumers. Overnight tax increase brings heavenly fortune for sellers marking up existing stocks by Rs.1.5-2m for 1500-1800 cc cars. Buyers who made deposits from Rs.3-5 lakh on order are struggling to get back the deposit as sellers refuse to pay. Cars(under 1500- 1800 cc) already shipped on order are subject to heavy amount of tax. Conversely, decreased taxes are not taken into account in pricing as new shipments are not yet cleared out. Further, payment made for establishing letter of credits before the tax revision is not given the concession. Rich community who use luxury, super luxury (Mercedes, BMW, Audi etc.) cars are not much worried as their indirect earnings easily cover the extra cost. Car tax implementation has become more complicated which erupts the intense anger from end users.

At the same time Finance Ministry has permitted tax free cars for all MPs to the limit of US$ 62,000   , engine power unlimited.

$ 62,000 = 9 million.  Tax for this level car is 240-300%  . That means  a tax profit of 20-24 million per   person.

All civil organizations who screamed to elect this government should raise the voice against the high valued duty free given parliament members. This is totally unfair when common folks are suffering.
