I deposited $30 into my forex account not knowing that it is illegal in Sri Lanka. Now from what I heard it is a criminal offense.i don't know what to do now ?
Will I get arrested ?
Please advise me

I am a researcher and a lecture. See my previous post regarding forex if u want I am the first one who told this is illegal. Answer for ur question is don't worry if u only put 30$. Because banks only consider 1000$ or above transactions per month So don't do further foreign money paying for this month. Then try to get back the money u send to forex. I think u can widraw it. Although u deactivate ur forex account it will remain for 3 months. So don't log there for 6 months. According to my research more than 30000 people do this in Sri Lanka and commercial bank and Peopels bank also doing this. Furthermore central bank not clearly published anywhere this is illegal also they don't take any action against the web sites who promote this. So don't worry up to now no one arrested due to forex. Therefore don't be afraid. I am going to present my views in a national conference will be held on next month. My suggestion is to make this ilgalised under government control as a self employment opportunity. Will see what they will say about my findings.

Agree with Neluka and adding further this branch of trading will be opened up of Sri Lankans in the future as per PM's one of recent statements. So you should be fine.

Its not a report its a research paper that shows the benefits of the forex trading as a small business under government control. I studied 200 people who do forex trading and came to the conclusions its a good small scale business that can do to earn money. By doing it for a 4 hour per day by investing 200$ it can be earn at leat 8$ per day without any loss.
