Being a penny stock this was being manipulated, the game seems to be over. People make money on penny stocks high volatility just based on speculation. Its easier to manipulate with low capital cost as well.

This is minor thing. At a time any company spends for capital expenditures & same way the amount is not recognized as capital expenses, company profit can reduce due to hit on p&l. Also power genaration companies especially hydro power related are seasonal. In such scenario we have to see overall result (Annual)

On second thoughts, I think they are getting ready for their obligation (to repay their debentures which are maturing in 2022).

My guess was correct , i have seen their huge cash flow against Capex. That was the reason this huge dividend. I recommended PAP @3.00, my target was 3.80 and my revised target is 4.10

PAP purposely drag down. see the 4.10 sell. 15 million shares, its just to keep this share at a lower level. after the person or the party collects this will rocket.

Some say PAP highly promoted but not worth the price.

Last year PAP made 0.71 Profit. In 2018 it was about 0.35. They have been adding new plants and few more being finalised. Profits have to be more this year if usual rain falls. Hydropower projects are very very profitable if rain available. Also they are adding solar power plants as well.

Last Quarter loss of 0.03 but their profits fluctuate so much due to industry. That is usual. One Angel Investor bought big chunk of their shares recently. They wont invest without looking at fundamentals. PAP clearly a good share with potential to go up. But as usual all depend on market sentiment.

Panasian Power does not expect COVID-19 crisis to impact existing operations

Panasian Power PLC (PAP), one of Sri Lanka’s leading suppliers of clean, renewable energy to the national energy grid does not expect the crisis brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic to impact its existing operations.
The independent power producer said in a market disclosure that the impact of COVID-19 has been relatively minimal to the company and they continued running their plants during the period.
Panasian Power currently has a solar portfolio of 6MW and a total generation capacity of over 14MW. The company has a further 5MW of ground solar in the pipeline under the Soorya Bala Sangramaya scheme and another 4MW of rooftop solar under construction as the company continues to expand its strength in solar energy.
Panasian Power said their systems have been transitioned onto online platforms to allow teams to work from home. However, the import restrictions and devaluation of the currency have affected the returns and commissioning timeline on their local projects, namely the 5MW of ground solar in Matara, Maho and Pannala under development.
“We will only be able to anticipate the extent of the impact once we know the timing of the removal of the restrictions on imports. On the other hand, reduction of interest rates is expected to have a favorable impact on the returns of projects and Company financials,” the disclosure said.
“Further, with regards to pipeline development, we have had a number of delays due to being unable to finalize construction, enter into PPAs and travel to develop overseas projects in Zambia, Kenya and Myanmar etc.,” it added.
The Listed Company does not expect any material long term financial impact to the Company apart from the delayed commissioning of projects.
“Whilst the returns on some projects have been affected, we expect these to be profitable and within the sensitivity guardrails we set when appraising projects. We still expect to have 30MW of installed capacity by December 2021.”
“Overall, the impact of COVID-19 will be mainly on our future projects as it will impact returns and completion of new projects however, we do not expect it to impact our existing operations,” the company said.
