I too was hoping that ASI would break 7000 by year end and subsequently amended the expectation to 6900. The second wave of covid caused some setback. However, the good news is it has been brought under control with decline in deaths and higher recovery rates despite increase in new cases. The impending holiday season is likely to see lackluster activity in the CSE till year end.

In the meantime the MCC compact has been rejected by the Govt without any re-negotiation, which in my opinion signals that there will be large FDI inflows from China in 2021. Based on this i am optimistic that 2021 will witness robust growth in the CSE.

BIL has a strong footprint in the leisure sector. According to Govt plans they are going to bring in high spending tourists for long stays here. B'ços of worsening Covid situation in wealthy nations the rich prefer Sri lanka as a safe haven and an attractive tour destination. Hence, the govt has decided to stamp 6 months visa on arrival instead of the usual 1 month.

So, there will be a dramatic turn in the tourism sector with strong yields than we expected and also much sooner than we anticipated. 

BIL's future prospects in my view will be beyond our imagination.

Hemas divested for a reason. Hotel sector revival will take a long time. The results will be reflected in my opinion in 2021 Q2 maybe if we are lucky. Why would tourist come to SL to be stuck inside a hotel room (not even allowed to step out) when they can easily go to Maldives and enjoy better facilities and a holiday. We are in a dreamland thinking just because we open for tourists they will come running to SL. There are so manty other countries like Bali, Thailand, Dubai which can be better options. BIL to be is a trading stock and thats all it is. Not sustainable. Just look at there P&L ...huge losses. 2.5 billion loss for 6 months!!! Do not get caught to promotions here by parties who are stuck and want others to get stuck too or bail them! There are so many good stocks to buy which deliver good profits and are recurring. Study and invest in those. Puntry sector, tile sector, banks.....

After the sale HHL price is on the decline. You can see it today as well.

Stock markets are futuristic in nature.

HHL gone up mainly due to Pfizer , in case Pfizer is replaced with Oxford what would be the outcome . Also who is the agent for Oxford

You are right. Pfizer vaccine will not see our shores for two reasons, its expensive and requires ultra cool conditions which does not suit tropical countries. Pl read the article for more info.

One party's strategic divestment is another party's strategic investment. HHL may reach 100+ but return on BIL on a percentage basis would be better.

Agreed , do your own calculation for 50k HHL shares VS BIL in terms of value , keep a markup of 50 - 80 cents per BIL for one month . Wonder 50 cents would achieve within a weeks
