Here are some information for you

"quated " - after the rights issue

Company did a Rights Issue on August and collected Rs 243,936,000
Out of these Funds a major portion will be allocated to settle the interest bearing Loans
Another portion will be used as working Capital

Main Points-Financial

Company/Group will be reducing Finance Cost Approx by 40 %
Since working capital is to be enhanced more and more Orders will be received and thereby
the turnover will be increased

Main Points-Technical

We Observe lot of Institunal Investments companies are investing in the ACME share.
(in 2009 -8 institunal and 2010- 12 institunal among the Top 20 Shareholdings)
The diversification of products in the industry is done by the company such as corrugated cartons ,
printed box boards woven PP sacks in addition to their main flexible packaging

There are many allied products which can be supplied to Tourism sector which company manufactured
This company may be taken over by an industry giant-(Possibility is very high, bcoz lot of compnies who are in the manufactoring process dont have packaging arm)

ACME is one of the shares that has not moved up in the Colombo Stock Exchange for Last 2 Years
(Except for 2010 , just before the rights issue upto maximum of Rs 45.50 )
YEAR 2011

BORROWINGS 658,712
FUNDS IN RIGHT ISSU 243,936
ADD TO WORKING 43,936
CAPITAL
SETTLE BORROWIN 200,000
BORROWINGS 458,712
(AFTER RIGHTS ISSUE)
AVERAGE INT RATE 16.50
(Some assumptions were made)

Negative Points.

Although rights issue funds was done , it didnt have a positive impact on its P&L statmnts,
Fraud done by Management of the company-(According to them this has been fully provided in the last quart results)
Pending legal issue pertaining to workers salary formula (Cost of living allowance ).
Investors attaraction is not focused on this .

and there are many more .....But .Do your own study and make your decesion
.If you want to get a analys(very small) done by me , drop me a mail to sunflower7526@gmail.com

Many improvements are in place at the factory and new investment in high TECH. This is one company that will come up soon .
They will roll out low cost foil Orders from major companies in the local market .With these developments the qty of the sales will increase rocket and they will be able to complete with MEGA FOIL suppliers
Number of shares are listed in the top 20shareholder list.
I also like my name to be in this list very soon.

I Wonder why ACME is still not moved. The stock looks attractive at current levels
When we see increased demand for food and other consumer items there will be more demand for packaging in the future, Quality also has improved tremendously. Most of their customers are well established companies who produce international brands.
If their production and markets expands they need more packaging. That means ACME gets more orders. Most of the customers of ACME progressing in the improved business environment. Even BFL has to pack their chicken and value added products using packaging materials. That means "Good time" for ACME too as they will get more orders and ACME would certainly perform well.

Clovis hold 43.16% in #ACME . The major shareholders of the company are Clovis company ltd., Their main business is aluminium and steel which is owned by the Chandaria family trust. The group today has a turnover of approximately US$ 4.5 billion, and own nearly 250 companies worldwide.and in Sri Lanka they have invested in many other companies, most of which are performing well.
I have noticed in this forum some new members complained that they ignored ACME.
By fundamentals and future potential, I think these stocks are attractive at current prices. If you already have enough of these shares in your portfolio then you have nothing to worry.. Usually hot cakes move first, real gems move later on a solid and steady pace. Long term investors are generally slow to enter a bullish market .Actually ACME is a real gem only for wise investors . Do your own research before taking a decision.

ya ACME is a one of the best stock ..as you said still not mvoing well .. so we can buy even the market down acme not falling toomuch

and as you said clovis hold more than 50% LALU so Mr. Dammikka try to hold the LALU. He annouced Mandatrory offer for LALU but nobody try to sell him.. afterwords he will negotiate and will cross LALU very soon @ 70 level(may be)..

Then He will try to buy ACME also .. if clovis sell ACME to Damika then they don't like to hold ACME as well they will swap any other company..

ACME already tocuh 29 last few weeks ago .. now trading @ 22 or 23 level ..it is good prcie to collect..

PARQ also make a move with LALU , ACME vise versa.

Yes, ACME seems to be another 'pump and dump' play - wonder who was involved this time ?

National Equity Fund and Namal Acuity Fund had 2 mn and 1.5 mn shares in ACME at 30/6/11 - these may have been the blocks crossed @ Rs24

11.26 mn ACME shares traded today between Rs23 to Rs34.6 - that's over 40% of the company. But after the 2 crossings, the largest trade was a single one of 100,000 shares. Lots of retailers in it now it appears.

ACME June 2011 results were a loss, and its book value per share was Rs17.2.

Its difficult to say, but I am wondering why it got pushed to 50% limit. If someone wanted to sell or buy, they could have done it without making a big seen. Even at 34.5-34.6 there was 100k parcel changed hand. What I think is, there was a big shot who wanted to collect this in a hurry.

National Equity Fund and NAMAL Acuity Value Fund which are under National Asset Management Limited yesterday shed their holdings in Acme Printing & Packaging PLC (ACME).

The disposing of shares took place in two crossings of 2 million and 1.5 million, each share at Rs.24. The buyer is believed to be Perpetual Capital which entered the market in the recent times.

As per the June 30, 2011 interim reports, National Equity Fund and NAMAL Acuity Value Fund had 1.5 million and 2 million shares respectively.

After the two crossings, next largest trade was just 100,000 shares, with share rising to a high of Rs. 34.6 before closing sharply lower
