What would be the USD/LKR Exchange within next 3 months. 30th June 2023.

as of now, 75% say less than 300 and 47% say less than 275. interesting to see real numbers with IMF deal.

විකුණුම් මිල ඊයේ සිට අද දක්වා 346.33 සිට 350.22 දක්වා තවත් රුපියල් 3.89 (1.1%) කින් කඩා වැටෙයි. තවදුරටත් රුපියල කඩා වැටෙනු ඇතැයි විශ්ලේෂකයෝ කියති. අනියම් වෙළඳපොලේ රුපියලේ අගය 380 පසුකරයි.

You are completely ignoring the restrictions that are imposed, even though some of which were eased, the imports will be in control compared to the USD inflows from foreign remittances and exports that are slowly picking up pace. lol!

Interesting poll, kinda reveals the betrayers to the nation. Next poll should not include 200. Instead go straight down to Rs. 180/- . Rs. 350 and beyond will be deleted. Expanding on my thoughts in my previous post, you all forgot the finalising the Port city arrangements. and aid that is due from USAID and proposed funding from Common wealth among other commitments by many agencies.

You all forgot the fact that SL doesn't have to import most drugs anymore. Diabetic and cancer medicine can be produced locally and therefore doesn't need to be imported. Similarly no of people registering with the Export Development Board to find clients in European and African nations have increased drastically. Indicators and statistics all pont towards the Glory f Sri Lanka.

The LKR will depreciate and the exchange rate will face serious pressure, particularly when the currently restricted imports are allowed, in keeping with the IMF Agreement. When the Government and CBSL announce the time table re. lifting exchange restrictions and multiple currency practices on 30th June 2023, the uncertainty will further escalate.

This is what the IMF says in its Report (pages 6, 19, 20 and 21) :
“Following a sharp depreciation, the exchange rate stabilized at about 360 Rupee/Dollar under FX market guidance from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) since May 2022, despite continued FX shortages”. (page 6)

This means the CBSL “fixed” the exchange rate from 12th May 2022 onwards, which resulted in the exchange rate becoming stable “despite continued FX shortages”. It also means that if the CBSL had not done so, the exchange rate would have depreciated further.
