No surprise, wealthiest elite group didn't like this. What they did was a most effective marketing campaign which made the most poorest and underprivileged people who would have benefited hugely go against this legislation which would have saved them immensely if enforced. The top most wealthy groups used advertising, misinformation and deception, even used disabled people to talk against the law which would have protected their interested if implemented.
So be careful who you're blaming and supporting. You may be blaming the party which is trying to protect you. You may be supporting the party who has been destroying you.
In the current context everybody (almost all) wants to put the blame on the rules and regulations. Broker comments (almost all) shows that rules are the cause for the poor performance of the stock market (they want to relax them) and it's not that the brokers have let people buy stocks on credit excessively, which has been controlled to 50% several months ago by regulations or the overvalued stocks which is the final result of that. They want you to see the blame is on the rules and it's not the wrongdoings of the brokers. The rules have been relaxed again and again and again giving more and more and more time, now for more than a year of time. If these rules and regulations were enforced by the brokers from the beginning will we be in this mess? Instead of blaming the law, shouldn't we blame your brokers? Should the regulators relax the law to infinity or enforce the law and punish the fundamentally cheating brokers? If you pay loads more than what is worth for something it is you who should be responsible and nobody else. You didn't blame the regulators or ask them to intervene when they were going over the roof to abnormal prices.
