I have 3 things to get clarified pl.

1. If I bought stocks on Monday and sell it before settlement date (Friday) is it necessary to make the payment or does broker deduct their part and pay the balance?
2. if I buy shares and sell another lot of share I have should I settle the payment?

3. Will GRAN go to 150-175?

What ever you brought or sell transaction will be separately, though brought on Monday and sell before the settlement date.

All what ever you brought or settle you have to pay accordingly (separately)

Hopefully GRAN will have a good run.. but has to be careful .. seems bull run started after long red days,,to monitor Very Happy

1.You don't have to pay, broker will deduct their part and pay the balance.

2.Both of amount are same you don't have to pay(buy and sell should do before settlement date.

3.I don't Know

They do their account work separately, but amount and time period are same you don't have to pay
Ex, you buying Y company 100 shares= 1000(with broker fee & Tax)
you selling Z company 100 shares= 1000(with broker fee & Tax)(selling before Y settlement date)
(pls correct me if i'm wrong)

1) When u buy or sell yr settlement dt will be 3 days frm transacted dt.
on the settlement day yr buying and selling can be netted off and if u owe u hv to pay, otherwise broker will pay. this is if u buy and sell on the same day.

2)if u sell on a later day from the dt of buying yr settlement to broker will be due before the sales settlement date .in this case if u do not pay then broker will again net off yr dues from sales proceeds and if there is a surplus he will pay you the balance amt on the sales settlement date. if there is no surplus u can pay him the shorfall.
he may charge u interest for the no of days of delay from yr due dt.

anyway presently, if u do not settle within T+5 it is compulsory as per SEC rules to sell yr shares to recover amt owed to broker.

Monday - No problem
Tuesday - No problem
Wednesday - No problem
Thursday - T+4 (with 16% annual charge)
Friday - T+ 5 (with 16 % annual charge)

Anyhow please don't take risk.

1. What my broker said was that if I have some amount to settle (after t+5), they will start selling my shares starting from the shares I bought last, till they cover the settlement amount. But I always settle at t+3, so never had scenario.

2. I some times do this. Buy share A and at t+3, if there is a share B that I like to sell, sell it to cover the settlement amount of share A.

3. no idea.
