As far as I know T+5 or T+3 thing has been there for decades. If anything did change I'd like to know the specific date it changed which the brokers are complaining about. I'd like to check the market performance with the introduction of the rule to see if there is a relationship between them.

what is expected is a relaxation in implantation....at least ....when limited room for credit is allowed that would relax strict implementation of these rules....there is no question of force selling... growing market can absorb investments...

T+3 and T+5 have become functional since the begining of this year although it has been there for decades.It is very easy to destroy something but rebuild is really difficult.Most of the investers(mainly retail) have lost their faith on share market.Therefore we can not expect miracles even though SEC relieve the rules.I think market will has slow recovery.

Thanks for the replies. But nobody could answer when this T+5 rule change came. Experts, could you tell me when this T+5 rule came into practice? I want to check whether there is a relationship with the market performance after introducing the rule. Or whether it is just something made by the brokers for them find a new way to make money.
Definitely this T+5 couldn't have been there around February 2011 when market was soaring. Was this T+5 rule came in June or July 2011? Any experts?

To my understanding and if I recall correctly the T+5 supposed to be implemented starting Jan 1st 2011 strictly. However brokers would have not strictly followed this roughly until End of february (roughly) in preperation for a March 31 deadline. Atleast that was true with my broker who told me that if the T+5 was not implemented strictly he would lose his license and that was
by end of february.

So in essence you can rule out the Boom period until mid february for sure if you generalize all broker acted as mine. Now am not sure about other brokers though.
