Hi Guys,

My broker Asha Philip has promised to give margin trading from February and when I checked with them every time they tell stories but nothing is happened yet. Earlier they said they have applied for license and waiting for approval from CSE then they want to hire a new person to handle Margin trading and now they talk about the finance issue. I don't know what they are telling is true and can't trust this broker anymore. Can you let me know to whom I've to speak on this at Asha philip or any other TRUSTFUL broker who is accepting Margin trading, to transfer my account. My portfolio value is more than 15M.

With a portfolio or that size, Commercial Bank, PABC and HNB will be more than happy to accept your business.

When I go for one of the said banks, do they handle my account afterwards or can I operate my portfolio without any problem, independantly?

you can operate them in your own, but i think they might restrict on the on line trading?

The restriction is that they will give you a list of shares that you cannot buy into that account. Mostly made up of the most illiquid shares.

u can buy even those shares, then ur margin value will come down very drastically, also the margin providers can't give margin to their own shares

I spoke to Commercial Bank and Sampath Bank to get the margin trading facility. They both provide margin trading facilily only those who have more than 10mn portfolio. But my portfolio is less than 10 mn. Crying or Very sad

Any bank provide margin facility for less than 10 mn portfolio. Question

When I speak to my broker (Asha philips), they told they are planning to provide margin trading facility for thier customers. But they asked me to wait two more months.

check with DFCC, i think they will give if your portfolio was above 3 million at the interest rate of 14%, above 5 million 13.5%, and above 10 million 13%

I have being with capital trust its a useless place to be, i closed my account over there. the online system of capital trust always get stuck and they are not at all prompt.
Thushan and sarath the big chaps dont give a damn they only advice to buy greg better off not going to them.

Hey guyz if you are in need of a Margin facility you can have it from Bartleet Finance....but you should maintain your portfolio with their own stock brokers and your portfolio should be at least more than 5 MN....I think they are the only people who grant the facility within a short period...it took only 5 days to finalize everything....but I am not really sure whether they restrict any trading or not....so far they haven't....but I think their interest rate is a little bit higher compared to other margin providers which is 16% pa....still I am happy with their rates only because of their service quality.

Why don't u guys join with MBSL for margin trading facility. if u have more than 1 mn portfolio you can join with them. interest rate 17%

Very easy to go with them.

commercial bank don't allow to do online trading.....So pathetic..

I was about to go with them....But without online trading no point...

Does anyone know where i can get MT with a portfolio value of 1.6M?

If ur portfolio is full with solid shares u can get the facility from DFCC @ 14% or less.

Remember u should have sound shares worth of Rs 3Mn.
