May 23, 2012 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s tiny bourse extended its losses on Wednesday falling just over two-percent despite investor interest in selected blue chip counters, brokers said.

Turnover was 817.95 million rupees, with foreign buying at 529.76 million rupees over sales of 398.49 million rupees, the exchange said.

Wednesday’s trading was dominated by conglomerate John Keells Holdings PLC, which fell 6.10 rupees to 196.50 rupees on 1.9 million shares.

A block of 657,912 JKH shares crossed the floor at 200.00 rupees during early trade.

DFCC Bank gained 3.00 rupees to 120.90 rupees on trades of 1.2 million shares.

Two blocks of DFCC shares --of 780,000 and 220,000 -- crossed the floor at 120.00 rupees during mid-day trading.

Commercial Bank PLC was flat at 105.00 rupees on trades of 308,696 shares.

Don't sell, can't you see this outsiders are buying. Very soon the local big people and Institute will start buying. Keep at your capacity without buying on credit.

Have anyone found the reason to the net positive foreign investment for consecutive weeks since long time?

I feel this trend has an unrecoverable implication which needed to draw our immediate attention.

Who is investing this money?

The ASI is at a trailing P/E Ratio of 10.62 -lower than it has been for a fairly long time. At this level, the potential to rise (rewards) is greater than the potential to fall (risks).

The 'foreigners' who are investing could be either Lankans abroad and/or foreign funds. Does it really matter?

Intention of investment is to earn a profit. At the time of LTTE was in highly operated people like Raju Rajaratnam invested in CSE. Because, they wanted profit that is all. No matter how the cat has been made.

Now the LTTE has change their strategies. Think if they buy the considerable stakes of blue chip companies, they could influence our government as HNWI in CSE.

So it cannot be considered as an investment with the intention of profits merely.

The economical political and international influences are more powerful than civil war.

We cannot totally rely on the CB reports and statements.

Because I saw there are few news paper articles done based on the Cb statistics about the tourism industry 2011.

According to them western European Canadian and USA people came to SL as tourists last year in significant amount.

But lanaka e news said that with the economic crisis in western this much of tourists were unable to come SL last year.

One of the study about the tourism reported that the pattern of the tourism in western has been changed by the financial crunch and the people in there used to travel in Europe and USA regions instead of coming Asian countries.

So the increment illustrated the arrival of Tamil people who migrated to western in war season to visit their relations.

How wonderful their analysis....... Shocked

Though this is not relevant to this thread, I should mentioned this.

Can you remember after releasing the annual report for 2011 in this April CB has advertised in national news papers by saying that last year SL has reached a brilliant development targets. Why they are promoting this much it?

Before passing few weeks we felt the hot of the country's development by depreciation of LKR, imposing tax on vehicles and necessary goods, isn't it ?

If liars and cheaters are in the power subordinates also do the same.(In most cases they will do more than the superiors)
This is the curse of our homeland.
We elected cheaters and they time to time put some mask and gossip.
We rely on the gossip and thinking in another world.(which they want also)
Most of us need to forsee the future in a differentway.
Still we riding our self in the teacup.

It is a very good imagination. We have to find the reaction for the action. Let them to purchase and dump at lower prices we will buy later with the help of our brave Lions and ETF etc.

If this will come true the govt can explain the reasons to coming tigers' money seriously.

Meanwhile the black currency of our politicians is pumping to CSE by covering the LTTE.

What is your intention? Proof LTTE is still a threat or war victory is illusion?

No one will be able to stop LTTE or Tamil activities around the world since a large number of Tamil people living around the corner. The defeat of LTTE militarily is a well known fact. No bombs are blowing people are moving freely. Those are the signs to say that LTTE has no military power at the moment. We all know others mistake except our own.

This is about two totally different things. One is pumping LTTE wealth to CSE and other one is black currency of politicians bring to CSE under the veil of LTTE if it is actually happened.

This is like the fresh milk pour along the roads in Hatton and impose tax on imported milk. At that time people though that that govt is promoting local milk production.

But one cartoon drawer questioned that why is LG gas price increased : to promote the local fire wood production.

This is how our politicians behave.
