Is there a demand for Sri Lanka equities from big global investors?

Recently I have been thinking, IS there actually a demand for Sri Lankan equities from big global investors? Only for them to be put off by the lack of liquidity and opportunities to buy big tickets in the names? The market is so illiquid that the smallest of ticket sizes would certainly push up the price of equities.

If there was better liquidity, would we see more funds look to take bigger sized positions in Sri Lanka?

Any thoughts appreciated. Cheers.

you are crazy.... there are no investors throw money in Sri Lanka now. People had hopes after the war..... but now, investors need to lick the politicians boots and give commission to bring the investments.

So many barriers in banks. they cant even open an account online without so many documents and procedures and policies in place.

Who'd bother to come????????? spend money and lose?????
only people who would come is Ex Sri Lankans, they also have doubt as there is no dual citizenship.

we have no clear path, we have only junctions and roundabouts every one is confused.

no manufacturing. only tourism and foreign workers remittance of middle east.Is there a country in world has developed without manufacturing????

look at the parliament, we had Lalith athulathmudali, gamini disananyaka, ranjan wijerathna, Lakshman Kadiragama.... look at the people in the parliament now??????. I dont at least see the personality.

Most of govt and opposition politician are corrupt

Hela urumaya and JVP and tamil politician are comparatively honest

People vote KUDU Kings and Day robbers. See the behavior of Voters of Gampaha who are comparatively more educated than other districts

How can we expect better govt than this

We should identify bullish stocks. Look we had opportunities in NEST, CERA,LIOC, TPL, LLUB,JKH and few more stocks including small and mid cap etc. What is next? Next one to five years. Which companies can make more profit and can have growth?
