TPL released the interim report (for 15 months). Seems a solid 15 months with

EPS 10. Also announced a dividend of 3/- BV also seems very attractive in above 50s.

Tomorrow going to be a TPL day?

During December quarter tea companies such as TPL, BOPL and MPRH Reported profits despite difficult environment when compare with other plantation companies. All three have some value. TPL has reported profit in this quarter as well. It is time to identify quality tea companies which can produce high quality tea in the future. It is also time to identify plantation companies who can show good results when compare with others in their group. There will be great demand for high quality tea in the coming years. We have to consider TPL has one of the best managed tea companies in the tea sector.

Valuepick you are correct. TPL management is strong.

The price didn't change much as expected today. The dividend seems to be attractive around 7-8% on the investment.
Also I believe the share price will appreciate in the long term.
I'm going to put this to the long term investment bucket.
What do you say?

I haven’t done 100% research on it. At the moment I like both TPL and MPRH. MPTH could generate more income in the future. However, high quality high grown tea companies will have bright future in the coming years. They also have mid and long term value. In addition to their tea income they will start to generate earnings from timber and other sources as well.  So they will become more attractive. In addition, some tea companies have link with European, North American and Chinese market. Tea is not an unhealthy fizzy drink. It is a healthy drink.  Remember coffee giant Starbucks Wants to do a revolution in tea. Very soon it is going to be tea time.
This is not a bear market. It is a bull market. Therefore, tea stocks also will go up in the remaining stages of bull market. We should see much improved global tea prices from the second half this year onwards. I believe there could be above average capital gain from tea stocks of quality tea companies listed in the CSE.

Good luck!

Yeah... MPRH looking strong too.......... Should wait for the 4th Quarter report.

If they made a strong 4th Quarter the prices will go high as they may pay a super good dividend as usual.
My only concern is the liquidity status of the company.

However as VALUEPICK said this is an attractive long term investment.

There are winners in any group. TPL has announced wonderful results. HOPL also managed to make some profit. Much expected WATA announced less than expected results. However, tea prices should improve from the second half this year onwards. As this is a bull market tea stocks also should go up on valuations during second part of current bull market. By then other socks will become very hot. It is wise to identity high quality tea companies as their tea prices will fetch higher prices in the future.
