how the dependers get the money if one died? pl share your views?

See the section on 'Nominations' in this article. Your broker should be able to provide you with a Nomination Form.

Yes you can do a nomination or you can do a Joint account with someone.

Oh, you mean if the person has already died...? Refer to this extract from Quibit's post:

Transmissions
The transmission of shares to the heirs of a deceased shareholder is done by forwarding the necessary documents such as the probate or letters of administration to the CDS through the CDS Participant and registering the same with the relevant company secretary. Stamp Duty is payable to the Department of Inland Revenue for such transmission of shares.

Best thing would be to contact a reliable stock broker (CDS participant) and ask them to help you with the paperwork...

Can any 2 NON related parties transfer portfolio to each others, without going through the trading floor..?t if yes , what is the procedure...?

Can I buy shares in the name of my kids. I would like to invest some funds for two kids on share market. They should be able to utilize when they grow. Ideally I can invest in upcoming IPOs. You comments will be appreciated.

If they are young kids, that may not be convenient; it would be better if the shares are in your own name - so that you have unrestricted access to buy and sell.

Instead, I would recommend that you make your spouse or kids the Nominees, by registering the nomination form with the CDS, through your broker... By doing so, it will be easier for your loved ones to obtain ownership of the shares when you move on (as we all will some day). That is what I am planning to do for my shares.

As any other property rights, I feel my spouse and then childrens have a legal entitlement over my shares even without nominating .Isn't it

still they have to go to courts to claim it i think if you hadn't written a will.
better consult someone who has a legal background

Spouse will get 50% and children 50%. But if there is no will this has to first go through a court case before the allotment.
