if you say TAx reduction is effect to LOFC. actually its not only Effect to LOFC it should be effect to CSE...

Tax reduction is not a big issue...

The government will get money from small people...

It will not go up now , as i predicted , there will not be delisting now. There was a plan to sell high quantity to singapore unit so it will not happen now. So its 100% 2 scenarios out of scene now. We have only 2 scenarios left but it will take medium to long for a price hike. now LOFC will completely exit from singapore market and turn again SL market due to some favourable tax scenarios. Thats why i cleary guessed how Lofc will react after tax changes.

We wil look for 2 scenarios next , refer below article as per a supporting. Dont worry LOFC has a value but it will reflect a long time to share price.

Sri Lanka’s LOLC group plans to exit one of two micro-lenders in Cambodia to fund new acquisitions elsewhere and may also sell a stake in a Singapore holding company, a media report said.

LOLC plans to sell its 70 percent stake in Prasac Microfinance Institution Ltd, Bloomberg Newswires reported.

“It is very large as a micro finance institution. I think Prasac needs to move to a bank,” the report quoted Deputy Chairman Ishara Nanayakkara as saying.

PRASAC is Cambodia’s largest micro-lender with a 2.2 billion dollar balance sheet by the end of the last financial year.

The largely dollarized Cambodian economy, where the central bank has been mostly edged out, has driven LOLCs growth.

LOLC also owns a second firm, LOLC Cambodia, which is the fourth largest in the country with over 500 million dollars in assets, at the last balance sheet date. However it operates in domestic currency according to the annual report.

Cambodia’s riel has also been stable around 4,000 to the US dollar for almost 20 years, after falling from 400 to 4000 in the 10 year to 2000 and promoting dollarization.

Without the monetary instability that hit many other Asian nations in 2019, Cambodia’s economy is forecast to grow by 7.0 percent in 2019 and 6.8 percent in 2020, according to International Monetary Fund projection.

Cambodia is one of few developing countries whose growth was upgraded by the IMF in October.

At LOLC’s home base in Sri Lanka, bad loans have risen across the banking system, hit by monetary instability generated by a soft-pegged central bank.

Bad loans have risen in Sri Lanka as the currency collapsed to 182 to the US dollar from 153 in 2018, due to contradictory monetary and exchange rate policies.

LOLC is also building a holding company in Singapore, another country with monetary instability and a strong currency and free flow of capital. The firm controlled by Sri Lanka will hold many of its overseas units.

LOLC may also sell a stake in the Singapore holding company to a strategic investor later to raise more capital probably around 2021, Nanakkara had said.

LOLC already has operations in Myanmar, Indonesia, Philippines and Pakistan. It plans to expand into Africa, Brazil and India, where however monetary stability is weak. (Colombo/Dec11/2019)

LOLC & LOFC become 2 separate conglomerates.

Nanayakkara will never do it , there is a strong reason for that. Only experience person can see that. See i predicted 2/4 scenarios before Nanayakkara.

LOFC is still under watch list for non-compliance of 'minimum public holding'.
How are they addressing that issue?

LOFC already sold big stake to Singapore Firm. Also their rights (at 4.65) also cud have bought by them..Cambodia deal do not affect LOFC ?

The sale of the Cambodian venture has been on the cards for months now, together with the delisting of the 3 subsidiaries. Majority of LOFC stake has already been tranferred to Singapore few months back. If they are going to look for a strategic investor for part of this stake, it makes sense to delist LOFC in Sri Lanka and have 100% ownership within the group.
Part of the proceeds from the sale of the Cambodian venture may be used to delist LOFC, CLC and NIFL.

TAX reductuction very much affects CSE. But its a positive effect... Not a Negative BAD affect.. More Sales, Then More Profits, then again more balance profits.. Double affect for some companies..

Yes. some shares were transfered / sold and then through rights issue almost whole thing (1:4 = About 23%, i guess) were also aquired by Singapore firm. Probably teller missed this ... ? BUT LOFC HAS NOT ISSUED MINORITY HOLDING NOTICE FOR THE MONTH OF OCT AS YET .... ? Can they do that? Arent this a violation of CSE rules ??

LOFC has been moved to a second tier board, where they have to report non-compliance only on a quarterly basis and not monthly. So they have till the end of December to rectify or report.

Based on circumstantial evidence, I feel something has to happen this month, coz LOLC is the 3rd most respected conglomerate, and Ishara wouldn't want main companies to continue faltering and being moved to lower boards like this..

Most of the time your predictions are right and has a good argument for it. But I am at a loss to understand how Bank / "Finance get adversely affected when their taxes (DRL) are cut down, more economic activity and resultant more loans from Banks / Finance, Less Bad debts due to better income etc...PLS CLARIFY...."

I think you got the answer now. Ishara did what i guessed. He did this because of tax changes. He gets the advantage now to bring his outside funds without tax. Its sure now he will keep LOFC without delisting. In same way he will slowly make minimum public requirement .

Oh.. Yes. I have missed that notice. Thanks.. What do you think ? Will they delist or sell off some of their shares ? I felt they were doing the sales though at a loss..

To stop the delisting initial reason was LOFC's Deposit base,CBSL does not approve their request due to the huge Deposit base they have ( 110 Bn ).
Now the things has changed with new Govt.
Ishara will sell some part to saaky or satya capital as mentioned few days back.
After all share will adjust to CLC's price, I.e over NAV and will be around 6.30 - 6.60.
Wait and see, Target time framework is 1 - 4 Months.

If the LOLC group has reduced their stake by even one share, it needs to be disclosed as a related party transaction. They transferred a big chunck around 6 months back from LOLC, sri lanka to their own subsidiary in Singapore, so its still within the group.
Question is why would Ishara divest more to meet the minimum public holding requirments, when finance companies have been given so.many incentives from the tax cuts.
I feel they will delist LOFC, CLC and NIFL and consolidate all these under the Singapore company. Ishara mentioned that he intends to.consolidate all the microfinance operations under the Singapore Company in the interview.
Later, he will list the that company in the Singapore Stock Exhchange which will give the group its due value.

LOLC Holdings PLC today (12) announced that no finality has been reached to sell its stake in a unit in Cambodia.

In a stock exchange filing the company said; "upon certain parties indicating their interest in acquiring a stake in Prasac Micro Finance Institution Limited, Cambodia, LOLC Holdings PLC has been in the process of exploring possibilities of a sale of whole or part of its holding in Prasac. In any event, the sale of any shares in Prasac will require the prior approval of the National Bank of Cambodia."

However, no finality has been reached, with regard to the execution of any such transactions, the company said.

"An announcement will be made to the Exchange if it culminates in a conclusive transaction," the company added.
