For small and short term investor, why the DY % should not be the best barometer ?
Or some kind of volatility gauge is far better ?

For an investor with a low risk appetite, high DY% shares are often a safe refuge because their prices are less volatile.

Such shares combine the excitement of equity growth with the comfort of regular returns. Especially in this era of falling interest rates, high DY% stocks have been becoming increasingly attractive.

I am not an expert Kithsiri, but what i felt is
it is good to consider DY%.. but the matter is ... as i feel that...
price / time of entering to the counter decide your mid to long term capital and dividend gain......

so basically DY% good indicator but if price entry is at the peak..... then investor got to wait comparatively long term..... isnt it?
