i am first after this post,
dear,
i lost around 450000.00 in 2007/2008 from FERN and VANI
still today,
but,
i recover by REEF N in 2010/11

As a ratio of earning (excluding the capital) loss might not exceed 10% i guess

I have a portfolio of about Rs. 3.2 mn.

Biggest loss was from KHL ( i hate hotels) and NHL in year 2010. lost about Rs. 65,000/= .

However i never gave up. Made a profit of in excess of Rs. 300,000/= from browns and in excess of Rs. 65,000/= from Janashakthi recently.

i made a couple of large losses in march. totaling to around 3.5mn.

I think the biggest profit cumlatively would be either BLUE, BFL or CFLB. not sure which.

My biggest loss was because of the SEC's rule fixing game. I'm aspiring to be a long term investor and bought fundamentally strong shares, but I realized if I hold on to them I can buy them at a lot less over the next weeks, months and quarters. And I can. Smile

Biggest lost in 2011. GRAN - 78,000/-. Bought it at 170/- and sold it at 145/- (I have a taken wise decision to sell at 145/-)

Biggest profit in 2011 is ASHO. Earned nearly 1 million.

sitting on a unrealized gain of 13% as of now Sad

my biggest mistake yet is to buy @ 170 KOTA just for that 5/= dividend finally lost more than i got from that dividend and a valuable lesson.

Loss:105000 from Seylan X and CINV

Profit: 1.2 mn from REEF and LGL

Now unrealized loss is around 20% of the portfolio. I am ready to hold until I can cash one by one, may be with small gains. No hurry to sell.

With my medium term investments all shares at a loss. banks , divertified , hotels DOCK GLAS all are red. RCL GUAR were some what stable. SAMP also at a big loss. RICH is at a loss. NTB AHUN ..all are same.

possible losses of 1.4 Mn ( well haven't actually sold them at a loss yet)

Biggest blunders
- JINS rally - 300,000 loss
- UBC at 35 - 500,000 loss

Do any of you guys apply stop-loss principles? To be frank, though i try, i cannot actually make myself self at a loss..so end up holding growing losses

This is the major reason for my situ, as i see.

My biggest loss and the biggest gain are from CARG and it is from the same transaction..

I bought CARG at an average of around 29 and held it for 2 years untill I finally decide to dump them at 90.. I made a 300% gain Very Happy

After 2/3 months, CARG shot up to 200.. The loss is in the from of an opportunity cost..Well considering the amount I have invested, the opportunity cost is big and letting go CARG at 90 is the biggest regret in my life Sad
