possible losses of 1.4 Mn ( well haven't actually sold them at a loss yet)

Biggest blunders
- JINS rally - 300,000 loss
- UBC at 35 - 500,000 loss

Do any of you guys apply stop-loss principles? To be frank, though i try, i cannot actually make myself self at a loss..so end up holding growing losses

This is the major reason for my situ, as i see.

My biggest loss and the biggest gain are from CARG and it is from the same transaction..

I bought CARG at an average of around 29 and held it for 2 years untill I finally decide to dump them at 90.. I made a 300% gain Very Happy

After 2/3 months, CARG shot up to 200.. The loss is in the from of an opportunity cost..Well considering the amount I have invested, the opportunity cost is big and letting go CARG at 90 is the biggest regret in my life Sad

I made Rs. 100,000 loss few month ago at the time I purchased shares on credits using buying power. Initially I invested RS. 200,000 and it came down to Rs. 100,000 with several occasions and all the times my adviser forces me to settle the credits. After that I stoped buy on credits and advised to broker firm not to give me credits (Buying power without my own money). After that I invested my all at BLUE at the price of Rs. 3.30 and stayed silently. After couple of months I could recover my total losses by selling BLUE at Rs.7.50. and I learned advantages of share trading with my own money(Not to use buying power). I read some article written by world third richest person Mr. Warren Buffett (Investor) that said not to invest money if you don't prepare to invest for ten years. He don't advise to do day trades. Actually I realized his words by my experience and share with you for success of your future as an investor. And also I read company accounts and articles published on the web and try to invest under valued companies by looking the book values.

Think the share which will be taken by the manipulators next time.
And it has to be undervalued share.
Invest on it.
You will be able to recover your losses in medium term.

I would say dump the speculative counters with a loss and trade the money on Value shares now, but do it gradually. Value shares has to go up eventually one day . You and I may not know when but it will and it always has. Even if we have multiples of corrections.

I have had more than 100 companies in my PF at different times, and now I have 45 companies in my PF. Almost all companies could give me positive results.

However I have booked the profits and rotated my PF at different times. During past 3 moths I have cashed 50% of my PF and still 50% of that cash I am holding. With the rotation of this time I have a unrealized loss of about 300,000/- but overall my PF is green.

Since I have created this RED by myself as a result of cashing in profits and investing in potentials I am still confident of sound recovery by 2012. Hopefully another 50-100% gain if I am lucky. Question
